Inge Dekker’s unique musical versatility and ability to tell a story through music is what makes her such a compelling musician. Inge is a dedicated composer, chorister, conductor, French horn player and brass teacher. In 2023, she finished her Bachelor of Music in Composition at Australia’s leading school for music, the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU). She is driven to tell a story in every piece of music she writes.
Inge received a Special Mention Award for her wind orchestra piece, Sounds of a Rising Sun, in the Australian Women's Wind Band competition (2023). She has had original pieces premiered by the following Brisbane-based ensembles,; The Australian Voices (2025), Queensland Youth Orchestra (2024), Birralee Voices (2024), Queensland Conservatorium Wind Orchestra (2023), Queensland Symphony Orchestra (2019), Queensland University Musical Society Choir (2024) and multiple QCGU ensembles. She has arranged music for schools in the USA.
Inge currently teaches brass instruments, conducts ensembles and conducts choirs for primary and secondary students. She is currently involved in writing the soundtrack for three Brisbane based short-films.
